Tonight at 7pm, in the back room of the Pine Box Rock Shop we will have our first Drum Casket session of the tour. The drumming/recording session is closed to the public, in order to uphold an environment for those participating in the piece. The pre-selected group of participants will gather and drum for one another, taking turns as one singled out lays inside Drum Casket.
At 9pm, the recording session will end. We have invited friends to come join us then, to celebrate the start of the tour. The back room will be opened up and the Drum Casket will be visible there, on its wooden stand, as a sculptural artifact of an interaction that will have just transpired.
At 9:30 we will clear a pathway through the Pine Box, to the ’68 Cadillac hearse parked out front. We will proceed to carry Drum Casket through the Pine Box and load it into the tour vehicle.
If you are in New York, please join us tonight at 9 at the Pine Box, to help us celebrate the start of the two month tour!
Amery and I want to send out our gratitude to everyone who has helped to make this project possible. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication, and the support of the people close to us has been invaluable. The day of the launch is here, and we can hardly believe it!
